Step into my Boudoir...

Fancy a snoop around our bedchamber? This room is all about luxurious textures and rich colours, with a carefully woven variety of features making it ultra-soothing at bedtime yet zesty enough to get you up in the morning!

I've spoiled myself by creating not one, not two, but THREE custom pieces for this room:

  • Rachael, the exquisite mid-century sideboard and my first ever project refinished in Fusion Mineral Paint Midnight Blue & Cranberry

  • Aurora, the classic Victorian dressing table given a whole new personality using Mustard & Midnight Blue

  • And her constant companion Elvira, the sumptuous Edwardian shield-back chair, lovingly reimagined in Midnight Blue with gold accents and Divine Savages Deco Martini velvet

All totally different but with enough complimentary elements that they wink at each other across the room.

My second lucky-light-fitting find of the renovation happened when I arrived for a client consultation with the lovely Melanie, and immediately spotted the most stunning crystal chandelier I'd ever seen! I blurted out "wowthat'sthemostbeautifulchandalierI'veeverseen!" and wouldn't you know, she was planning to sell not just one, but a PAIR WITH MATCHING LAMP! I just about fell over myself! Here she is in all her glory, having been stripped down to individual crystals, cleaned, dried, polished, and reassembled (NOT for the faint hearted!) She definitely elevates the room, and I love to lie in bed & watch the morning sunshine sparkling from her many facets. Probably my favourite real-life example of my personal mantra: you don't ask, you don't get!

Sometimes you don't realise quite how lucky you've been, like when we picked up these two large tortoishell glass lamp bases in a hotel clearance for a fiver. Paired with these gorgeous and totally inexpensive Ikea black/gold shades they make a weighty symmetrical statement, framing the bed perfectly. Surprisingly I'd say that Ikea definitely give John Lewis a run for their money in the lighting department, as they usually have something new and different with that luxe appeal on a budget.

You didn't think it could get worse than the orange carpet in the guest room but YIKES I beg to differ! Check out what this room looked like BEFORE I waved my Expert Touch wand - somebody really liked PINK!

Next we shall explore the office/dressing-room...Take your best guess and see if you've got me pegged...
