Vintage “Beautility” Drinks Cabinet
This vintage “Beautility” drinks cabinet was a client’s own commission, and came into the studio looking very impressive but oppressively BROWN. After fully dismantling it inside and out, the doors and drawer-fronts were completely sanded back to reveal the stunning original walnut grain. A “light touch” custom taped design was applied using warm gold, all the hardware was regilded, and the rest of the exterior painted in a bespoke mix of petrol blue. Inside, everything was painstakingly painted hot mustard yellow, with a fun rainforest-inspired paper added to the drop-leaf and motion sensor LED lights as a finishing touch.
