Edwardian Mahogany Sideboard
This Edwardian mahogany sideboard was a client’s own commission, and was funded by inheritance from her beloved Aunt, so required the utmost care and attention.
A full inside-out makeover was required, and after selecting the colour palette of rich inky blue with soft sky blue with gold accents, the serious work of transforming this substantial piece began.
After sanding back the drawer fronts, doors and the entire top surface, each area was carefully measured before this bespoke taped design was created and applied. Every inch of the pattern was then outlined in gold, and all the old hardware was gilded to match.
Inside, contrast was added using the soft blue alongside this wild jungle-themed paper in acid yellow, not just lining the back panels but also the sides, shelves and even the drawers.
