This unusual little piece is actually a 19th century church pew-end, and was a clientβs own commission which came to me rather the worse for wear! Full of dings, scratches, and several large cracks in the oak from which it was made, it required a LOT of TLC before painting even began. Its transformation was completed using a custom blended blush pink with plum and silver accents, alongside bespoke sweet pea and teasel stencils which give this piece a delicate new botanical look.
